Sri Lanka Cricket Suggests Inaugural series with Bangladesh and India in 2018 : Cricket

Sri Lanka Cricket proposes triangular series with India and Bangladesh at 2018

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday proposed a triangular contest between India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for the Nidahas Trophy between March 15 and 30 next year to mark the island nation’s 70th anniversary of liberty, based on an espncricinfo report.

According to SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala, the championship will consist with each team playing the others until the two progress to the final. But, it isn’t yet clear when the games are going to be Twenty20 Internationals or One-day Internationals (ODI).

“The (SLC) technical committee and cricket committee is still looking into it, however now we’d like it to function as a T20 triangular — that is exactly what the arrangement is,” Sumathipala said.

The proposed championship, will however reduce the amount of games, the Lankans are set to perform throughout their previous tour of India. According to the Future Tours Programme (FTP), Sri Lanka are set to play five ODIs, along with a T20I at India in March next year, that will follow three Tests.

Sumathipala said at least some of these games would effectively become transmuted into Nidahas Trophy games, while Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO Rahul Johri said the boards were still “working on” the specific schedule.

“We anticipate playing with the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka next season, because it not only coincides with the 70th year of the freedom of our country, but the 70th anniversary of Sri Lanka Cricket,” Sumathipala said.

“As our nations gained independence in a short period of each other in our modern history, this will no doubt be a substantial moment of similar sentimental significance for us to mark with pomp and pageantry as it rightfully frees,” he further added.

“There were great questions asked (in the interview July 10) and that I replied. You’re looking at the bigger picture as well as the improvement of Indian cricket and that is paramount. You will need to do the very best for Indian cricket,” Shastri had informed India Today after bagging the occupation.

Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland says he does not expect Australia to play with in Pakistan “in the short term.”

Sutherland was responding to a call in the International Cricket Council for more groups to tour Pakistan, following the current tour of a World XI that is enjoying three Twenty20.

Pakistan have hosted just one tour – a limited-overs show against Zimbabwe in 2015 – because militants attacked the Sri Lanka team bus Lahore in 2009. Australia toured Pakistan in 1998.

The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will interview the candidates for India’s next head coach on June 10. For applying to the post, the deadline is July 9.

Seven men have applied: Dodda Ganesh Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus, Tom Moody, Virender Sehwag, Ravi Shastri and Venkatesh Prasad.

At least three of the seven have previous training experiences with Team India in various capacities. Even though Rajput was director when India won the World T20 in 2007 and the CB Series Shastri helped India reach the 2015 World Cup semi-finals and win against the show.

After he had been appointed ahead of the 2007 World Cup coach for two years was a.

If Anil Kumble was still at the helm BCCI had advertised for another BCCI coach on May 25. He had been appointed on a contract in 2016 but resigned following differences.

Walk down memory lane: How the India vs England cricket rivalry started

Since India and England get set to renew their rivalry in Rajkot on Wednesday, here’s a look back on how it all started at Lord’s about 25 June 1932- India’s first ever official Test match.

The Times, London on 1 March 1932, one-and-a-half months ahead of the Indians embarked on their tour of England released another report:

“The match gown on. The Delhi police might be having three sharp rounds with a rioting crowd in the Chandni Chowk, the crowded bazaar of this old city, but a mile or two away on the club ground set in the gardens that 400 years past Shah Jehan built for his princess, also a Roshanara side would be playing the Punjab Wanderers or a Army group from New Cantonments will soon be fielding in the white sunlight. ()

NEW MILFORD — State troopers arrested the owner of the New Milford Sports Club on Tuesday on charges of not paying his workers and the centre was closed for 3 times, leaving members wondering about the destiny of their club and if they will be reimbursed for his or her dues. After getting 57 complaints the arrest warrant was got by the Labor Department’s wage unit. Last week, the New Milford Health Department shut down the food service area and swimming because of a lack of hot water of the club. A sign on the entry door in New Milford Sports Club claims the centre is closed because of fixes that are mechanical. A Department of Consumer Protection spokesman said because the team has closed, members must get access to the Health Club Guaranty Fund. Consumers who must file a complaint together may do that by exposing information about their interaction with New Milford Sports Club into dcp.frauds@ct.gov, or by calling 860-713-6100, read a statement from the section.

Former England all-rounder Paul Collingwood, who is a component of the World XI squad which would be touring Pakistan believes that the excursion will prove to be a substantial step in helping international fixtures are hosted by Pakistan .

In a column to the International Cricket Council ( ICC), Collingwood says, “There are a lot of reasons why I am excited about playing at the World XI T20 tour of Lahore.”

“Hopefully this can be a substantial step in helping Pakistan host international fixtures again after eight years of playing in different nations, including their home series from the United Arab Emirates and England,” he adds.

It must be noticed that no Test side has toured Pakistan because March 2009 militants attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team bus in Lahore, injuring some of the players and killing six policemen.

However sides, specifically Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, had staged the state.

A veteran of 68 Tests, Collingwoodstated that it must have been demoralising to Pakistan’s players throughout the last few years since no worldwide games were held in their country due to safety reasons.

“Playing away from their home could have done nothing to help them improve their sport in the long term and it should have been so frustrating,” writes Collingwood.

The former England skipper, while pointing that the locals in Pakistan will want their team to triumph, believes that the national will observe the bigger image and will be encourage the World XI.

“If teams are going to tour there again, it’s important that their supporters are also going to be safe to travel there.”

“Trying to help Pakistan is important for cricket – and nobody can feign the money is not good – however, added to that, playing them in their own back yard also actually floated my boat,” he adds.

RM Lodha hails Success for cricket as Supreme Court sacks BCCI president Anurag Thakur : Cricket, News

Justice RM Lodha today hailed the landmark sequence delivered from the Supreme Court which axed BCCI president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke from their own posts.

The two best BCCI officials were defiant and didn’t apply the Lodha reforms despite a clear order.

The Lodha panel had been appointed in the wake of this IPL spot-fixing scandal. There was so pressure on the board.

Lodha, revealed that there might have been no middle path from the implementation of these reforms following an executive order had been delivered by the Supreme Court and speaking to India Today, said he was happy.

Lodha, said after the July 2016 order was passed, his own committee began proceeding in earnest. Had this order been implemented by BCCI, he explained, this day wouldn’t have come.  

“One must realize that the purchase price of the highest court needs to be executed. Had they executed the arrangement of the Supreme Court, this day wouldn’t have come,” Lodha informed India Today. “Unfortunately the BCCI did not apply the order. This is actually the very first measure from the Supreme Court in ensuring that its July 2016 dictate be executed.”

Lodha also said that his report was about changes and it had nothing to do with folks. “People come and they go.”    

“It’s a success for the game of cricket. Administrators will come and go and I am certain that the game will flourish,” Lodha stated.

Lodha said the Indian board has been bound to adhere to the Supreme Court order as early as July.

“This was plausible consequence. The BCCI was not able to follow Supreme Court sequence in July,” he explained.

Meanwhile, former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi reported the historic order of the Supreme Court was excellent news for Indian sport.

“We all welcome the move. The cricket after public should now understand what sort of darkness they have been in. We’re thankful to the Supreme Court and Chief Justice for showing off the light of India Thakur.

“There is no space for debate today. This is very good news for Indian sport and cricket in particular,” he informed the media.

The Supreme Court made it clear that heads would be eliminated.

Fali Nariman and Gopal Subramanium will now indicate names for an interim Committee. India Today learnt that the seniormost vice president will be president.

The Supreme Court also said BCCI office bearers over 70 decades or whose office span has long for over those people who have a criminal conviction or even nine decades.

After titles of the board will be decided, the hearing will take place in January 19.
